Getting Started
Getting started with Microsoft Victory Lap is easy. To begin, there are 2 key steps:
1. Login using the Windows Live ID associated with your Microsoft Partner Network membership. If you don’t have a membership, click join—it’s easy and only takes a few minutes.
2. Tell us which Twitter handle you will be tweeting from. Don’t have a Twitter account? You can get one here . A Twitter account is required if you’d like to earn badges.
That’s it. Once you’ve completed these two steps you’re ready to start broadcasting your Microsoft-based solution wins!
Broadcasting A Win
Broadcasting a win is simple and involves the following steps:
1. Create a blog post or article on your website that provides some details of the Microsoft-based solution your customer has chosen. Be sure to get written permission from your customer if you want to mention them by name.
2. Tweet about the blog post or article and make sure you include a shortened link and use the following hashtags in your tweet:
a. For cloud solutions involving BPOS, Office 365, Windows Azure, or SQL Azure, use the hashtag combination of #msuspartner #mswin #mscloud.
b. For solutions involving Lync and Unified Communications, use the hashtag combination of #msuspartner #mswin #lync.
c. For virtualization solutions, use the hashtag combination of #msuspartner #mswin #msvirt.
d. For database solutions, use the hashtag combination of #msuspartner #mswin #mssql.
Sample Tweets
Here are some samples to help you when crafting a tweet (where you replace <customername> and <partnername>):
<customername> selects #msuspartner <partnername> for their virtualization needs <bit.ly link to blog post or web site> #msvirt #mswin
<partnername> to provide #mscloud solution to <customername> <bit.ly link to blog post or web site> #msuspartner #mswin
Your posts will then show up in the Victory Lane area on Microsoft Victory Lap! We’ll also be counting the number of posts made from your Twitter handle and we will award you more badges when you reach certain benchmarks.
