In the past, the TechNet Subscriptions team worked with the IT Evangelists in the United States (that?s me and my peers) to offer discounts for new TechNet Subscriptions.  We were able to offer discounts for about 2 years.  Last year, the discounts went away because there were changes being made to the program.  Also, if we offer perpetual discounts, is that really a discount or should the price just drop permanently?  I think you know the answer to that one ? hence why the discounts went away for a little while.
